    Biography

    Derek Clark is a husband, father, businessperson, public servant and health care advocate who has lived in Caledon for over 10 years. He has a MBA and over 30 years of consulting, finance and general management experience in the technology sector with recognized industry leaders such as Xerox, Hewlett-Packard and Toshiba. Derek also owned and operated a consulting company and was a member of the Caledon Chamber of Commerce. He is currently a part-time employee for the Ministry of Health and works with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario.

     

    Derek’s commitment to making a difference in Caledon is evident through his community service in organizations like the Rotary Club of Palgrave and the Caledon South Asian Association. He has extensive volunteer, fundraising and leadership experience within the community and has actively supported and participated with local organizations and events that have improved the quality of life in Caledon.

     

    Derek and his wife Janet have two adult sons, Stuart and Patrick. They live in the Village of Palgrave and have been residents of Peel Region since 2004.

    Election Day is October 24, 2022. Over the next few months, my team and I will work hard to earn your trust and support by knocking on every door in Ward 3. I firmly believe that the first step in building a better Caledon begins with listening to the people who live, work and play in our community.

    Derek Clark is one of the founding members of the Caledon South Asian Association. He currently serves on our Advisory Committee and has played a key role in building the organization and creating cultural awareness, harmony, appreciation and understanding between South Asians and other nationalities in Caledon. We are proud to support Derek for Ward 3 Councillor and are confident that he will advocate for the resources and services for all residents to thrive socially, mentally and physically in Caledon.

    William Osler Heath System Foundation

    Integrated hospital organization serving a catchment area of more than 1.3 million people making it one of the largest community health care systems in Canada

    Caledon Meals on Wheels

    Provides nutritious meals and social programs to residents in Caledon, Orangeville, and rural Dufferin

    Family Transition Place

    Provides critical services to women and their children who have experienced abuse and unhealthy relationships

    The Ferguson Memorial Walk

    An annual event created to raise awareness and prevent future violence against women

    My Sister's Place

    Provides residential and outreach services for women and their children living with the consequences of violence and abuse

    Habitat for Humanity (GTA)

    Mobilizes volunteers and community partners to provide affordable housing and promote home ownership as a means to breaking the cycle of poverty

    Norma Bangay Park Accessibility Upgrade Project

    Provides accessibility upgrades and new playground equipment to allow seniors, families and individuals with special needs or mobility issues to access and use the park facilities

    White Birch Special Needs Day Program

    Unique setting to enhance the quality of life of adults with special needs

    Peace Ranch

    Provides support through housing and rehabilitative programs for people with serious mental illness

    Meaghan Zaremba Music Room

    A resource for those with mental and physical challenges to pursue their passion of music leading to a more confident and creative individual

    Caledon Canada Day

    A committee that plans, organizes and fundraises for the annual community event that welcomes over 10,000 people to Albion Hills Conservation Area

    Toronto and Region Conservation Authority

    Mission to look after the watersheds of the Toronto region and Lake Ontario waterfront and to help people understand, enjoy and care for the natural environment

    Palgrave United Community Kitchen

    Creation of a healthy, sustainable local food system providing programs, events and community connections

    Albion Hills Community Farm

    Advances the understanding of local food and sustainable agricultural practices through farming, education, conservation and community partnerships

    Bolton & District Horticultural Society

    A forum for education about horticulture and gardening, to undertake civic beautification projects and to promote protection and improvement of environment

    Caledon Parent-Child Centre

    A non-profit community service organization that provides free quality programs for children, parents and caregivers in Caledon and the surrounding areas

    PACT Urban Peace Program

    Dedicated to working with, supporting and empowering under-served, marginalized and at-risk young people

    HomeJames Caledon

    Community program dedicated to saving lives by providing a free designated driver service for impaired drivers in their own vehicles

    Volunteer MBC

    Fosters and develops volunteerism in Peel region, serving Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon, by raising awareness of the power of service

    Community networking group that addresses the needs and issues facing 55+ residents of Caledon
